Cheaper product need to look cheaper – else Luxury won’t sell

Supermarkets package their cheapest products to look more like famine relief than something you’d want to pay for.It’s not because they can’t afford sexy packaging even for their cheapest foods – it’s because they want to persuade richer customers to buy something more expensive instead.

Lexus versus Toyota Camry

Economical models are visually designed not to look better than or at par, Luxury models of the same company.

Probably cost of ….visual design elements such as headlights, front grills etc …..
doesn’t vary much between a Lexus and a Camry.

But then Toyota will never give the same chic look to Camry – because then Lexus will loose its Luxuriness (visually) and thus might not fetch so much money.
